Professor Morris is a leading Classical Archaeologist with an extensive record of research and publication. His books include: ‘Burial and Ancient Society: The Rise of the Greek City-State’. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press 1987; ‘The Cambridge Economic History of the Greco-Roman World’. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press 2007 (editor, with Walter Scheidel and Richard Saller); ‘The Dynamics of Ancient Empires’. New York: Oxford University Press 2009 (editor, with Walter Scheidel), and many other works. He has also directed important excavations at Monte Polizzo excavations, Sicily and Kenchreai excavations, Greece.
