Lloyd de Beer has been a curator at the British Museum since 2012, with responsibility for the late medieval British and European collections. He has published extensively, especially on English medieval alabasters, and co-organised the important exhibition 'Thomas Becket: Murder and the Making of a Saint' at the British Museum in 2021, for which he co-edited the catalogue. His other publications include the co-edited volumes 'Matter of Faith: An Interdisciplinary Study of Relics and Relic Veneration' (2014) and 'Seals and Status: Impressions of Power' (2018), and 'The Lacock Cup' (2014), co-written with Naomi Speakman. He has organised and delivered papers at many conferences, and is currently Director of the British Archaeological Association.
