Grounds for election

Dr Haysom is an internationally established specialist in the archaeology of religion from the Bronze Age down to the Classical period. His research has focused on Crete, which is the most extensively excavated and surveyed region of modern Greece. It has touched upon all periods from the Late Bronze Age through to the Hellenistic period, although it has been mainly focused on the former. Before taking up his post at Newcastle in 2015, he was Knossos Curator at the British School at Athens.
