Grounds for election

Valerie Scott is a distinguished librarian and archivist, with an outstanding knowledge of Italian topograpahy and its associated literature. She worked at the British School at Rome from 1981–2021, running of its important archives and library from 1988, and the overseeing rebuilding of the library (2000). She served two terms as President of the URBS (Unione Romana Biblioteche Scientifiche) network from 1992, and was re-elected to oversee the transition from URBS to URBiS (Unione Romana Biblioteche Internazionale Specializzate) in 2015. She led a major project publishing 12 volumes of catalogues of topographic photographs in the BSR collection (1986–2017).
