Grounds for election

She is senior conservator at the Hamilton Kerr Institute, University of Cambridge, where she specialises in conservation and technical study of panel paintings and medieval polychrome wood, and in the education of easel paintings conservators. She is an accredited conservator and fellow of the International Institute for Conservation. Notable projects on which I have worked include the conservation of the Westminster Abbey sedilia, the Black Prince’s tomb tester, Winchester Cathedral’s mortuary chests of the early kings of England, medieval paintings at Hexham Abbey, as well as the Society of Antiquaries’ early portrait of Richard III. I have published widely on the subject of medieval art and its conservation, including editing three books. I am editor of the biennial Hamilton Kerr Institute Bulletin and former editor of both News in Conservation and The Picture Restorer. A monograph on East Anglian rood screens is in press.
