Grounds for election

Amelia is a British Museum curator specialising in Greek numismatics and collection history. Since 2007 she has widened access to c. 100,000 Greek & Roman Provincial coins through digitisation of records and images. She founded the Numismatics Summer School at the British Museum (2009-2018). She curated/co-curated three exhibitions (2011-2019): The Cost of Living in Roman and Modern Britain; Coins and the Bible; Playing with Money. She has served on the councils of the Society for the Promotion of Hellenic Studies, Sylloge Nummorum Graecorum, Institute of Classical Studies, and Royal Numismatic Society (Honorary Treasurer). Her publications include work on Bithynia, Aksum, metal analysis, pre-Islamic North Africa, collection history, and excavation coins. Her DPhil thesis (The Economy of Hellenistic Bithynia) is being turned into a series of die study articles, and a monograph funded by the ERC Change project (digitisation and research project on ancient Anatolia led by Oxford Uni.)
