Grounds for election

Toby Martin is a highly regarded specialist in early medieval material culture from Britain and Europe, particularly during the 5th- to 7th centuries. His research focuses on theoretically-informed empirical analyses of material culture, to better understand aspects of identity, exchange, networks and materiality. He has extensive teaching experience, has worked as a post-excavation project officer for Oxford Archaeology, and served on the Council of the Society for Medieval Archaeology.
