Grounds for election

Francis has made significant contributions in the areas of international trade and coinage in the Late Iron Age and Roman periods. He obtained a DPhil ‘North Sea and Channel Connectivity during the Late Iron Age and Roman Periods’; published as a BAR (2010). Francis then worked at the Oxford Celtic Coin Index (2010–11), where he researched and wrote ‘Cunobelinus’ Bronze Coinage’; Britannia 44 (2013), 27–83. Since 2012 Francis has worked with Prof. Martin Biddle, preparing publications on Winchester and St Albans. Francis is the author/co-author of six chapters of 'Winchester: British Historic Town Atlas Vol 6 (2107)' and has had a major contribution to the publication of 'Excavations at St Albans Abbey (forthcoming, 2023/4)'. He is also co-author with Prof. Biddle of 'Venta Belgarum: Prehistoric, Roman, and Post-Roman Winchester, 2 vols (forthcoming, 2023)' and has had an important contribution to 'The Anglo-Saxon Minsters of Winchester (forthcoming 2023-4)'.
