Grounds for election

Following graduation Jacqui was a Research Assistant (Cambridge 1971-80; Durham (1980-86) and Senior Research Assistant working on archaeological botanical material funded by English Heritage (1986-99). Thereafter EH NE Regional Science Advisor advising and training EH staff and archaeological contractors. Has participated in major regional projects, such as NE Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment (1999-2016). Research interests include: Roman-period grain sources and crop husbandry, Viking-Norse economy of Norther Scotland, settlement history of St Kilda and improving archaeological interpretation of botanical data. Has published widely on botanical data from Roman sites including: Catterick, Vindolanda and Ditches hillfort and villa; also Regional reviews and many research articles. Regular speaker at national and international conferences. Currently: Hon Research Fellow at Durham, Hon Member of the Association for Environmental Archaeology and a Trustee of the Vindolanda Trust.
