Dr Nick Milner has been active in the Classical history and archaeology of Asia Minor since joining the British Institute at Ankara's Balboura Survey in 1986 as the field epigrapher, under the direction of the late Dr Jim Coulton. He subsequently worked on the Nachlass of the late Alan Hall FSA, including editing for publication his Kibyratis Survey; and doing further research and publications derived from his Oinoanda Survey. He carried out fieldwork at Oinoanda in 1994 and 2008-2012 with Dr Martin Bachmann, Deputy Director of the Deutsches Archaologisches Institut, Istanbul, publication of which continues. He has also published an annotated translation of Vegetius's Epitome of Military Science (Liverpool Univ Press 1993; second edition 1996) and edited for publication A.W. McNicoll, Hellenistic Fortifications from the Aegean to the Euphrates in 1997. He has also held office as Treasurer of the British Institute at Ankara.
