Grounds for election

Mr Moore is the head of the Royal Society Library, having also served as its archivist. He also has been librarian and archivist for the Wellcome Library, and Dove Cottage. Mr Moore has authored the key finding aid for the Royal Society archives, as well as research articles and catalogues concerning the Society's portraiture and ephemera collection. He is also commissioning editor for the Bibliographic Memoirs of Royal Society Fellows. Recent publications include (inter alia) A Guide to the Archives and Manuscripts of the Royal Society. 1995. ‘Plates from Royal Society Publications: Fin-de-siècle newspaper sketches’. 2006 ‘Anniversary year portraits Notes and Records of the Royal Society’. 2011. Exhibition Catalogue: Many hands. 2011. ‘The Royal Society's lost seventeenth-century portraits’. 2013 He is also a frequent interviewee for television and radio, promoting the public understanding of the study of the material past.
