Associate Professor Buckley is a leading Biological Anthropologist working in the Pacific. She is also Deputy Head of the Department of Anatomy at the University of Otago, and is Associate Dean Research at the Otago School of Medical Sciences, University of Otago. She has supervised over 20 graduate students including PhD's, and has written over 50 refereed articles or book chapters. She is highly respected and has made major discoveries in our understanding of the populations that inhabited the Pacific in the remote past.
