Grounds for election

Richard Taylor is an archaeologist, author, TV presenter and currently the Deputy General Manager of the Kent Archaeological Society (KAS). He holds a PGCE from the University of Greenwich, a Masters in Victorian Studies from Birkbeck and studied Archaeology at UCL’s Institute of Archaeology. Formerly a Secondary School teacher, he has co-authored several sports and education textbooks for Heinemann & Pearson. He currently appears as co-presenter for Channel 4’s 'Great British Dig' and edits the KAS magazine. He was appointed a Community Archaeologist by Kent CC in 2013. Since then he has co-directed and directed numerous excavations, including the 'Footsteps of Caesar Project' with University of Leicester, the Lees Court Estate Project with the KAS and work in the vicinity of the Roman fort at Lympne. A specialist in geophysical survey Richard took on his current role with the KAS to expand its public provision and promote heritage in community outreach and as an education tool.
