Previously Senior Researcher in the Historic Environment team at Montagu Evans, Nicola now has a similar role at The Townscape Consultancy. She was formerly Course Leader in museum and heritage studies at the University of Reading; Course Instructor at Imperial College London; Senior Curator (art and design) at London Transport Museum; Curator at Eton College; and Curator with the National Trust. She holds a PhD in Architectural History (KCL); MPhil in Art and Architectural History (University of Cambridge); and MA in Curating (Courtauld Institute). Her publications include The Curator’s Guide (2020); ‘Pompeii and Herculaneum as inspiration for Neoclassical interiors in 18th-century Europe’ (Winckelmann in Italy, 2018); ‘Mayer Rothschild and Mentmore House’ (The Country House, Material Culture and Consumption, 2015) ‘Robert Hacumblen’s Chapel’, King’s College Chapel 1515-2015, 2014). She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Trustee of Pope's Grotto Preservation Trust.
