Grounds for election

Andrew Baines is an accomplished naval historian and museum curator. He has had a long career at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, including senior roles at HMS Warrior, where he cared for the first ironclad warship in the world, and he is now in charge of all curatorial and conservation work at the NMRN. His current major responsibility is for the restoration and conservation of the iconic HMS Victory, a project that is well thought out and which is being carefully delivered. He appears frequently in the media, and has curated several exhibitions at the NMRN (including HMS Caroline, HMS Warrior and the Victory Gallery), and has authored a number of related publications on historic ships.
