Grounds for election

I have known Dr Neidorf since 2016, when I met him at a conference in Granada, Spain. I have also reviewed two of his books, both of them on _Beowulf_, and here include the url of one of those reviews. It opens with the statement that in forty years I, the reviewer, had never met a more brilliant and compelling account of _Beowulf_ than the one provided by Dr Neidorf, a declaration followed by a summary of the author's arguments (on the basis of textual emendation and the like) for the poem as a Mercian work of the early eighth century, thereby solving problems which have baffled scholars for two hundred years.
