Grounds for election

Tamsin Lewis is a musician and historian. She is an associate lecturer on Renaissance art and music at the Courtauld Institute. Her research uses 16th and 17th Century music, words and song to examine aspects of social history in Early Modern Britain, transcribing material from manuscript and early printed sources. Her books with Rondo Publishing can be seen here https://www.rondopublishing.co.uk/product-category/tamsin-lewis-passamezzo-editions/ As a practitioner, she directs Passamezzo, an established early music ensemble, known for their ability to bring historical events to life through engaging performance and programming, drawing on Tamsin's research. Passamezzo collaborate with university departments, theatre, costume and dance historians and practitioners to reconstruct early modern masques and entertainments. This practice-as-research has contributed significantly to contemporary scholarly and wider understandings of embodied, material life in early modern Britain.
