Jerome Tait's expertise includes vernacular architecture and post-war defence structures. His career has included work in the public and private sectors including at The Conservation Studio. As a listing adviser for the last 15 years he has been involved in several of the projects undertaken by Historic England including the lead role in the designation of the complex underground Central Government War Headquarters at Corsham involving over 10 years of research and conservation, about which he has published. Lead roles in heritage-led regeneration schemes have included Historic England’s High Streets Heritage Action Zones. Current work provides advice on the heritage, culture, media and sport elements of the numerous Levelling Up Fund projects underway across the country. The service is establishing a new model for partnership working and delivery across the DCMS arm’s length bodies and government departments. He is an active member of the Vernacular Architecture Group.
