Grounds for election

Dr Heron is a distinguished archaeological scientist whose research interests span a very wide range. Recent research has focused on pottery technology and use as well as evidence for past culinary practices. He has a very substantial publication record and was Principal Investigator of an ERC Advanced grant 'The Innovation, Dispersal and Use of Ceramics in NE Europe' (2016-2021). Before his appointment to the BM, he was Professor of Archaeological Sciences, University of Bradford and had held a prestigious Humboldt Fellowship.
