Grounds for election

Dr Micha Lazarus graduated from Oxford in 2005 with a double First in English, and since then has been forging a distinguished academic career as a specialist in Reformation studies and book history. His DPhil thesis on Aristotle’s Poetics in Renaissance England is being prepared for publication by OUP and his latest book, on Alexander Nowell and book circulation in 16th-century Oxford, will be issued by the Bibliographical Society in 2024. He has published many articles in these fields, won numerous awards and academic prizes, and has given many lectures and conference papers. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and is also a qualified barrister. Most of his work has a historical dimension; his more particularly antiquarian studies include articles on Laurence Nowell, Roger Ascham and Nicholas Udall. He is an obviously suitable candidate for Fellowship of the Antiquaries, and we would do well to harness his expressed interest in joining the Society.
