Grounds for election
Lee has been a leading practitioner in the management and research of archaeological heritage over more than 30 years. She worked as a professional archaeologist for 6 years in the SE and Eastern England, first as a surveyor with the English Heritage Monuments at Risk Survey, and then as an archaeologist with the Cambridge Archaeological Unit. In 2003, Lee became an Archaeology Officer at Durham County Council where she advised on the management & conservation of heritage sites in the planning system, and the management of digital heritage data. Lee became an Inspector of Ancient Monuments at Historic England in 2015. In the past 8 years, she has provided planning advice on nationally important archaeology in the planning system, been involved in the repair and presentation of scheduled monuments (including those in the National Collection), as well as representing Historic England as the lead Inspector for damage casework & nationally significant infrastructure projects.
