Grounds for election

Andrew Margetts is a specialist in the archaeology of the historic period. He has written extensively on medieval pastoralism and agriculture. He has published on the archaeology of the counties of Kent, Sussex and Surrey, with a particular focus on the Wealden region. Amongst his works are a major study of the medieval cattle economy of South-East England (‘The Wandering Herd’), a synthesis of the archaeology of the Weald ('Wealdbæra: excavations at Wickhurst Greenand the landscape of the West Central Weald') and an investigation of Dover’s Tudor harbour works commissioned by Elizabeth I. With over two decades in the archaeology sector, he has an established research profile. Andrew has taught post-excavation analysis techniques to both undergraduates and postgraduates at University College London and has written an excavation and recording manual for archaeologists in the field.
