Professor Luyster is a leading specialist in the arts of the High and Later Middle Ages with a particular focus on Britain. Hailing from Harvard, she has published in the field's top venues--Speculum, Gesta, etc--and has recently completed a major revision of the famous Chertsey Tiles entitled 'Bringing the Holy Land Home'. This has resulted in a much-lauded exhibition, an award-winning book of the same title with Harvey Miller (the Monica H Green Prize with the Medieval Academy of America), and an international conference. Prof Luyster has recently published a further book 'The Chertsey Tiles, the Crusades, and Global Textile Motifs' with Cambridge University Press and she is the co-editor of 'Negotiating Secular and Sacred in Medieval Art'. Her forthcoming book with Cornell University Press, 'English Bodies, Imported Silks', explores the importation of silk from the Byzantine and Islamic worlds into England. She is a longstanding member of the ICMA and the Medieval Academy.
