Grounds for election

Tom is a professional archaeologist with over 20 years’ experience in a range of sectors, including local government, museums, universities, commercial archaeology, and consultancy. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists, a registered STEM Ambassador, and a member of the Archaeology Committee of the Roman Society. He has fieldwork experience in the UK, Romania and Egypt. Tom started work as an artefact specialist with the Portable Antiquities Scheme, before undertaking a PhD using PAS data at King's College, London, which he published as a British Museum Research monograph in 2014. Tom then worked as a Research Fellow on the important Leverhulme Trust funded Roman Rural Settlement Project at the University of Reading, and was a key author of that project’s three monographs and other outputs. Tom has subsequently specialised in post-excavation and has authored over 40 publications in journals, books and digital media.
