John-Henry Phillips is an archaeologist, author, television presenter, and filmmaker. This won the Nautical Archaeology Society’s Adopt-A-Wreck award. John-Henry made and appeared in the accompanying documentary No Roses On A Sailor’s Grave, which won multiple film awards and appears on PBS network. John-Henry’s 2022 book 'The Search' combined history and memoir to tell the full story of the expedition. John-Henry co-hosts The Great British Dig on Channel 4 and works as a Senior Inclusive Heritage Advisor at Historic England. From a Romany origin, John-Henry co-founded the non-profit Romany Community Archaeology, teaching Romany people vocational skills through excavations of Romany sites. John-Henry’s next book looks at Romany history through traditional storytelling and archaeology.
