Grounds for election

Stuart has been a field archaeologist for over 20 years and is now Director of Fieldwork at Cotswold Archaeology, a charity that employs 300 archaeologists. He leads the field team that operates from four offices and has been the executive lead for the delivery and quality of Cotswold Archaeology’s participation in some of the largest archaeological projects in England, including Sizewell C, HS2, Lower Thames Crossing and the A417 Missing Link, each with multi-million-pound archaeology budgets. Earlier in his career he was the site director on extensive infrastructure projects including Hinkley Point C, various significant pipelines and the M40 Jnc 15 improvement. He has also directed deeply stratified urban excavations in Bath, Bedford, Cheltenham and Gloucester. Stuart has contributed to numerous papers and monographs and is a named author on a variety of published reports. He also presents archaeology and heritage to the public via talks and the media.
