Grounds for election

Formerly Senior Curator of the Wallace Collection and a lecturer at the University of Buckingham, Helen has a strong academic background contributing widely to the study of French decorative arts, by curating exhibitions and publishing on furniture, gilt bronze and the history of collecting. She has spear-headed international collaborations with major museums in the UK, US and France including a ground-breaking project which led to the publication of the only monograph on Jean-Henri Riesener (PWP, 2020) with an associated digital legacy. Her study of the material world of later Stuart diplomats (OUP, 2012) was shortlisted for the Whitfield Prize. She is currently Executive Director of The Attingham Trust, an educational charity known worldwide for its study programmes on historic houses, interiors and collections and Director of Royal Collection Studies. Before taking her DPhil, Helen pursued an earlier career in investment banking during which she worked in London, Tokyo and NY.
