Grounds for election

Natasha McEnroe is an acknowledged expert in the history of medicine and a respected museum and heritage professional. A former manager of the Grant Museum of Zoology at UCL, and Director of the Florence Nightingale Museum, from 2017 to 2024 she was Keeper of Medicine at the Science Museum. Here she masterminded the award-winning Medicine Galleries and initiated and led the COVID-19 Collecting Project, leading to important post-pandemic exhibitions in the UK, India and China. Her publications include ‘Acquiring Infection: the challenges of collecting epidemics and pandemics’, Interface Focus Journal, Royal Society (2021) and co-editing The Medicine Cabinet: The Story of Health and Disease Through Extraordinary Objects (2019). Natasha has also served as curator of Dr Johnson’s House, where she remains a Trustee. She is a visiting speaker at Imperial College, UCL and the Worshipful Company of Apothecaries. She was appointed General Secretary of the Society of Antiquaries in April 2024.
