Grounds for election

Dr Skelly is a leading archaeologist working in Papua New Guinea. His research (based on extensive fieldwork) on the development of trade and exchange systems along the South Papuan coast was groundbreaking. His latest book (with Bruni David), 'Hiri : Archaeology of long distance maritime trade along the south coast of Papua New Guinea' (published by Hawaii University Press) has been described as a breath of fresh air for this region. He is currently a Research Fellow at Monash University, Melbourne.
