Jane is Keeper of the Science Collections at the Science Museum, managing eight curators. She has taken leading roles in several major ScM galleries and exhibitions, including: London Science City 1550–1800 gallery (co-curator), Ancient Greeks exhibition (lead curator), Zimingzhong exhibition (lead curator). She joined the ScM as Curator of Scientific Instruments having earlier worked as an Assistant Curator at the British Museum (assisting on four major exhibitions), and before that as a Curatorial Assistant at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge. Jane published her doctoral thesis as The Changing Face of Early Modern Time, 1550–1770, Palgrave Macmillan, 2019. Other publications include ‘Claude Martin’s Clocks, Watches and Scientific Instruments’ in R. Llewellyn-Jones, ed., The Estate of Major General Claude Martin at Lucknow: An Indian Inventory, Cambridge Scholars, 2021, and (jointly with A. Rose) Science City: Craft, Commerce and Curiosity in London, 1550–1800, Scala, 2019.
