Kristine Rose-Beers is Head of Conservation & Heritage at Cambridge University Library. She was formerly Head of Conservation at the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin, and prior to that Assistant Keeper (Conservator of Manuscripts & Printed Books) at the Fitzwilliam Museum. She is a prominent figure in the field of Islamic and western manuscript conservation, with research interests in early binding structures, and in the use of pigments and dyes in manuscripts. Her approach combines academic study with a deep understanding of materials and techniques, and she has been a contributor to several significant research projects, including the TIK-DAK Conservation Project at the National Library of Egypt, and the Fitzwilliam's MINIARE Project. She has published extensively and is Conservation Adviser for the Skilliter Centre for Ottoman Studies at Newnham College, Cambridge, where she is a senior member. Kristine has a long association with the Montefiascone Conservation Project in Italy.
