Grounds for election

Dr. Mark Webb is a specialist in medieval archaeology and late medieval urbanism in England. He has had peer-reviewed articles on medieval archaeology published in The Archaeological Journal (2021) and Urban History (2018), and his Historical Map of Coventry was published by the Historic Towns Trust in 2021. He co-founded the Medieval Coventry Group (www.medievalcoventry.co.uk) and has organised and presented at several symposia on the subject, including a conference on the early C16 Flemish tapestry in St. Mary's Hall, Coventry, with new findings published in a subsequent book editedy by him. As a trustee of the Historic Coventry Trust, Mark has presided over the largest transfer of historic properties out of Local Authority ownership in British history. He fundraised for the successful restoration of Drapers' Hall and the Charterhouse in Coventry and has contributed to the re-interpretation strategy of a number of other significant historic buildings in the city.
