Grounds for election

Alexander Kader began his career in the sculpture world at the Heim Gallery in Jermyn Street. He went on to work with the Matthiesen Gallery and Joanna Barnes Fine Art, London. He joined the Sculpture Collection at the Victoria & Albert Museum in 1994. He joined Sotheby’s 19th century Sculpture Department in 1996, and was appointed Head of the European Sculpture and Works of Art Department in 1999. Alexander Kader has published widely on sculpture from the 17th to the 20th century, contributing to numerous scholarly publications, including a range of entries on Baroque sculpture for the Grove Dictionary of Art, and the essay on sculpture in the V&A exhibition on Art Nouveau. He has served as a member of the editorial board of The Sculpture Journal.
