Numismatist and specialist in miniature artefacts. Currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Classics, University of Buffalo. Previously Curator of the Money Museum of the Deutsche Bundesbank, Frankfurt. Director of the Katzenbach Roman Villa excavations and the Idol Hill excavations, Hassloch in Germany. Assistant Director at Alexandria Troas, Turkey (2008-9). Author of 'Miniature Votive Offerings in the North-West Provinces of the Roman Empire' (Wiesbaden 2009) as well as a number of journal papers on Roman artefacts and numismatics. Current co-recipient of a grant from the Danish Council for Independent Research on 'The Emergence of Sacred Travel' re pilgrimage in the ancient world, which is based at Aarhus University.
