Grounds for election

Alexandra is an expert on fine art prints and the print trade in nineteenth century Britain and on early modern British literature. She joined the British Library in 2013 after four years working at the National Portrait Gallery, having previously worked art Sotheby's and Bonhams and having trained at the Courtauld Institute . In the British Library, she has helped to catalogue the drawings and prints in King George III’s Topographical Collection, in the process identifying hitherto unknown works by Thomas Sandby and Thomas Jones of Pencerrig. Between 2016 and 2020 she was lead curator for exhibitions of objects and events relating to British literature in four venues in China and Hong Kong. She has contributed articles on eighteenth and nineteenth century British artists to the Allgemeines Lexikon der bildenden Künstler von der Antike bis zur Gegenwart and co-authored books on English literature.
