Grounds for election

She is one of the new generation of academics who specialise in the medieval archaeology of Ireland. After several distinguished years in TCD, both as an undergraduate, and then a research student, supervised by Terry Barry, she went to the University of Cambridge, where she was awarded an M.Phil in Archaeology. She then became the Donnelly Family Fellow in Environmental Studies at the National Humanities Center, USA, and tenured Associate Professor at Southeast Missouri State University. She published her first monograph in 2019 entitled 'The Irish Tower House: Society, Economy and Environment 1300-1650' Manchester University Press, which won the SE Medieval Association Best First Book Prize. She is the Lead Researcher of the Human-Environmental Interactions in the Landscapes of Medieval Ireland Project, which employs drones to help identify the location and morphology of deserted medieval settlements. She is the Editor of the journal 'Eolas' from 2023 to 2026.
