Grounds for election

Oliver is a recognised expert on the survey and analysis of standing buildings and historic landscapes. He is the former Chair of the CIfA Professional Membership Panel and was a Trustee of the Derbyshire Archaeology Society (2013-2018). Employment has included: Research Assistant Dryslwyn Castle Project (Durham 1993-1997); Project Archaeologist Stowe Gardens (1998-2001); Project Manager ARCUS (University of Sheffield 2004-2009); Senior Project Manager Wessex Archaeology (2009-2012). In 1996 he published a typology of medieval arrowheads in Post-Medieval Archaeology. He founded and has led The JESSOP Consultancy since 2012. Since 2008 he has been the archaeological Consultant at Chatsworth. Current projects include Woburn Abbey, Blenheim Palace, Hardwick Hall, interim Archaeological Consultant to Wells Cathedral, Archaeological Consultant to St Paul’s Cathedral, and to Winchester Cathedral
