Grounds for election

Kirsty Squires is an expert academic researcher and teacher in the fields of bioarchaeology and forensic science. Since 2014, Squires has been a lecturer at the University of Staffordshire where she is now Associate Professor. Her published works have made sustained and significant contributions to the investigation of human remains from archaeological contexts, notably to the analysis and interpretation of cremated human remains and their mortuary contexts for early medieval Britain. Her recent work has extended to the collaborative investigation of mummified human remains in post-medieval Sicily. An integral part of her expertise and research is the ethical treatment of human remains and public perceptions and engagement with the remains of the dead.
