Grounds for election

Noé Conejo is a specialist in the study of coins found in archaeological contexts, especially in the use and circulation of coins in rural areas in Roman times. He has written several articles on this subject focusing on the Roman province of Lusitania, located in the Iberian Peninsula. He has also published this year a monograph on the same subject, which contains the extended results of his doctoral thesis. In recent years, thanks to a contract under the European Commission's prestigious Marie Curie Actions programme, he has analysed the ritual use of coins in Late Antique and Early Medieval funerary contexts in northern Italy. He has also published a monograph of collected texts and several articles on this subject. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where he is developing a research project on the use and circulation of coins in ancient times in the centre of the Iberian Peninsula.
