Katie Parsons is an experienced heritage professional with an established record of providing advice on historic buildings, sites, and historic landscapes, their values, evolution and potential, across cultural, social and economic sectors. Katie is an experienced heritage professional with specific expertise in historic environment conservation, policy, planning, advising on the future management of the historic environment, heritage protection regimes, and sustainable regeneration. In June 2024, Katie was appointed as Head of Heritage Protection at Historic England, Katie is member and Trustee of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation and Chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and former member of the Expert Panel on Planning for New London Architecture. Katie continues to pursue her academic interests with a particular interest in the aesthetics of historic staircases.
