Grounds for election

Tsirogiannis is a forensic archaeologist researching international networks relating to the sale of cultural property. He has identified over 1,700 illicit antiquities leading to repatriations to numerous countries including Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Iraq, Italy, Pakistan, Türkiye and Yemen. He is a co-author of Trafficking Culture: New Directions in Researching the Global Market in Illicit Antiquities (2019), and is currently serving as an expert in provenance research for the Swiss Federal Office for Culture. He has worked as a field archaeologist for the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, and with the Cambridge Archaeological Unit.
