Grounds for election

Rebecca is one of the leading archaeologists in the study of Arabia. As Director of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Research for the Royal Commission for AlUla, Saudi Arabia (RCU), she commissions and steers an extensive programme of archaeological surveys, excavations and research, engaging international expert teams to expand understanding of the rich past of AlUla region and enhance community appreciation of their past. A specialist of the early Islamic period, Rebecca’s previous work in archaeology includes: co-director of the Humayma Archaeological Project, in southern Jordan; Senior Researcher in the Leverhulme Trust’s interdisciplinary Water, Life and Civilisation project at the University of Reading, Aga Khan Fellow at Harvard University and Fellow at the American Center for Oriental Research (ACOR) in Amman. Rebecca earned her PhD and MA from Harvard University, and BA from University of Pennsylvania. She would make a valuable and engaged Fellow.
