Grounds for election

Ollie Jones is a theatre historian and director with archaeological training who works holistically across studies of early modern touring theatre, architecture and performance. His work has contributed to advancing theatre history and practice at several important early theatre sites. As a member of the Architectural Research Group at Shakespeare’s Globe since 2009, his investigations into early modern buildings have been used in the design of the Sam Wanamaker Theatre and in new developments at the main Globe theatre. Dr Jones also directed student performances in the Guildhall at Stratford-upon-Avon, a formative site in William Shakespeare’s career, and has recently been an academic consultant for the Rose Revealed Project and Purcell Architects in preparations to complete the excavation of the site ahead of construction of a museum and theatre.
