Katy's career has been dedicated to making rigorous historical research accessible to the widest possible audience. Since graduating from Oxford with a degree in Modern History, she has worked for over 40 years as an editor of books, journals, reports, exhibition content and web content, specialising in history, architecture, art history and archaeology. She is an Advanced Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading. Most recently, Katy has worked for English Heritage, editing many guidebooks in the English Heritage Red Guide series and then as a Digital Editor. In the latter role she has commissioned, edited and produced historical content for the great majority of the 400-plus sites cared for by English Heritage, developing an expertise in creating web content that is designed to share the most rigorous, up-to-date knowledge of the history of the sites to reach ever wider audiences. She personifies public facing popular history at its best.
