Mark Oakley has made a significant contribution to understanding the relationship between poetry and religious belief over the centuries. He has published eight books on this area of study as well as a number of articles and has lectured and broadcasted on the subject, nationally and internationally. Currently he presides over one of the most significant cultural venues in London and was recently made a Fellow of King's College in recognition of his "exceptional contribution" to the cultural life of London.
