Grounds for election

A museum archaeologist and curator since 2001, Sally is a specialist in the prehistory of the Middle East and expert in heritage research, interpretation, and display. As lead curator at the British Museum’s Archaeological Research Collection, Reading, she leads on creating opportunities for innovative research and transforming access to the collection. The facility was made possible through research partnership with the University of Reading and is the Museum’s largest relocation project since the Second World War. Sally’s early career was at the British Museum and encompassed archaeological excavations in Turkey and Oman, gallery redisplays, international loans, and touring exhibitions. She publishes on museum practice, human remains, commensality in prehistory, and ancient trade in luxuries. She has also worked in the independent museum sector where she championed the histories of women and minority communities within British sport.
