Grounds for election

A distinguished campanologist and researcher in the field of church bells, bellringing, bell frames and bell foundries and Tower Captain at St James Garlickhythe, St Dunstan-in-the-West and St Magnus the Martyr in the City of London; in which all three churches he facilitated the installation of peals. He created the Royal Jubilee Bells which led the Thames Pageant for HM the late Queen's Diamond Jubilee before moving them to Garlickhythe church. The leading authority on the history of bells in Kent, London and Westminster, his research is freely available online. He regularly contributes to The Ringing World and other publications. He holds positions of responsibility in management as well as serving on the Church Buildings Council co-ordinating their preservation lists, the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers leading their archive function, and a past Librarian of The Ancient Society of College Youths. He was awarded the MBE in 2023 for services to bellringing in London and Kent.
