Grounds for election

Elizabeth Green’s PhD was on the hall houses of north and east Wales. Having worked for an architectural practice surveying historic buildings she moved to the National Trust in 2002. Up to 2021 she was the curator of major houses in north and mid Wales including Erddig, Powis Castle, Penrhyn Castle and Plas Newydd. She oversaw numerous conservation and presentation projects during this time including the acquisition and display of a highly significant miniature by Isaac Oliver. Liz’s responsibilities also extended to countryside and vernacular buildings and she has a great passion for the latter. She has always been an enthusiastic member of the Vernacular Architecture Group and the Society of Architectural Historians of GB, serving on the committee of the latter for many years. She is also a Trustee of the Friends of Friendless Churches. Since 2021 Liz has been the NT’s Architectural Historian and in 2023 she published a book on the Trust’s holdings, 60 Remarkable Buildings.
