Published more than 30 refereed papers, including collaboration with the Royal Armouries, Wallace Collection, Boughton House, Thinktank (Birmingham Museum of Science & Industry), Wurzburg, Birmingham and Huddersfield Universities and the Bavarian Army Museum. Honorary Historical Consultant, Royal Armouries. Member, Editorial Board, 'Arms & Armour'. Council Member, Arms & Armour Society. Currently editing the published papers of the late Anthony North, FSA.
