Grounds for election

Services to archaeological conservation and archaeology over 40 years including research and publications on mineral preserved organic remains and the conservation of waterlogged organic materials. Specialisms include the identification and reconstruction of artefacts from the traces preserved on metalwork, and the conservation of waterlogged wooden artefacts and advising on major programmes of conservation such as that for the Dover Bronze Age Boat; authored over 200 research reports for English Heritage and contributed to numerous site publications including the Anglo-Saxon cemeteries at West Heslerton, N. Yorks; Mucking, Essex; Boss Hall & Buttermarket, Coddenham and Snape, Suffolk; Barrington, Cambs; Spong Hill and Harford Farm, Norfolk; publications also include contributions to English Heritage guidance, in particular on Investigative Conservation and Waterlogged Wood.
